The Rt Revd Mark Bryant, Bishop of Jarrow has honoured Paul Stringer for his 25 years of dedicated service to the Diocese of Durham.
Speaking at the recent Diocesan Synod held at Durham Johnson School on Saturday 21st May, Bishop Mark congratulated Paul Stringer on his dedication of service saying: “Paul’s 25 years of service to Durham Diocese is a story of real commitment. Paul is in the very best sense of the word a “specialist in ecclesiastical law and practice”. Every Diocese needs one! Paul knows his way around all sorts of complicated processes and legislation and without that we might all get into quite a bad pickle. I have worked quite a lot with Paul – particularly during the two vacancies – and I know that everything is done with immense speed and efficiency and kindness. We are very blessed indeed to have had Paul with us for the past quarter century.”
Paul joined the Diocese after graduating from Nottingham University and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Secretary. He has carried out various roles for the Diocese during his tenure and presently serves as Administrative Secretary, amongst other things servicing the various boards and committees of the Diocese including the Bishop’s Council, Board of Finance etc.
Commenting on Bishop Mark’s surprise presentation Paul said: “It has been a real pleasure and honour to work with so many good folk over so many years serving the Diocese, and I am particularly grateful to my friends and colleagues at Cuthbert House for putting up with me and making those years happy and fulfilling.”
